Senior Cloud Engineer (Storage)

Location: Ramsey, NJ (Telecommuting role – may reside anywhere in the continental U.S.)

• Provide assistance in the operation of complex storage environments, including storage arrays such as HPE 3Par , NetApp , or cloud storage platforms such as Claudian or Azure Blob .
• Mentor junior technicians on the team.
• Operate independently to ensure administrative tasks are performed according to industry best practices.
• Participate in the development of standardized best practice designs to be recommended to clients.
• Perform senior administrative duties in the operation of data center storage and backup environments, typically using products such as Veeam or Cohesity (with additional products as required).
• Support the maintenance and administration of the ComportSecure cloud environment , including servers, storage, hypervisors, and applications.
• Monitor system utilization and health; perform remediation as necessary.
• Coordinate with vendors such as Microsoft , Veeam , or HPE to open support tickets, repair failed components, or apply patches.
• Participate in the ComportSecure on-call pool ; while on call, handle first-response client support tickets.
• Triage, diagnose, troubleshoot, and assign tickets as required.
• Manage your personal support ticket queue to meet client SLAs for resolution and satisfaction.
• Participate in the deployment of applications, either independently or as part of a team.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal counterparts.
• Act as the principal technical point of contact for assigned Managed Service clients.
• Participate in regular client status meetings to communicate the health of their IT environment and identify potential service concerns.
• Perform other similar tasks as necessary.

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems , Software Engineering , or a foreign equivalent.
• Must have a minimum of 24 months of prior experience as an engineer with a focus on IT storage or a closely related field.
