Job Title: Instrument Maintenance Planning Technician

Length of Contract : 12 months

No per diem offered - local candidates only, please

Job Overview:

This position is for an Instrument Planning Technician responsible for the planning and scheduling of maintenance and reliability activities. Candidates must have hands-on SAP experience, strong knowledge of instrumentation, and a solid background in maintenance planning within the oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage maintenance and reliability plans for assigned assets
• Create and maintain project and outage plans using planning software
• Prioritize work for timely response, backlog management, and cost control
• Prepare comprehensive job packs with necessary planning details
• Coordinate work order and schedule development with Operations and Maintenance
• Maintain look-ahead schedules (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and multi-year)
• Dispatch work and manage manpower availability in collaboration with supervision
• Provide technical support in CMMS (SAP) modules
• Ensure accurate documentation for all work orders
• Identify and coordinate material needs with vendors and supply chain
• Support KPI development and generate compliance and performance reports
• Request updates to procedures and assist in drafting new ones
• Recommend and support training initiatives to enhance work processes
• Contribute to budget development when needed
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Degree preferred
• Experience:
• 5+ years in maintenance roles using SAP in oil & gas or petrochemical environments
• Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA
• Familiarity with Planning, Scheduling, and Execution best practices
• Experience with project planning tools like MS Project or Primavera P6
• Prometheus experience is a plus
• Exposure to estimating and planning work involving scaffolding, painting, insulation, rigging/lifting, welding, and machining
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with PHMSA-regulated pipeline facilities or gas compression/metering equipment is preferred
