Information Technology Specialist (Application Software) Join to apply for the Information Technology Specialist (Application Software) role at Indian Health Service . This position is located with the Office of Information Technology (OIT), Division of Health Information Technology and Modernization & Operations (DHITMO). The role involves serving as an advisor to management in evaluating data, processes, and procedures to assess the effectiveness of program operations, management, and organizational efficiency. The incumbent reports to the Supervisory Information Technology Specialist or designee. Key Responsibilities Manage and support commercial EHR software application configurations, ensuring adherence to best practices. Analyze proposed changes impacting EHR system configurations, develop impact assessments, and recommend actions. Maintain documentation validating EHR application functionality and stay current with evolving features. Participate in EHR go-live activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Provide end-user support during training and implementation, including remote and on-site assistance. Respond to helpdesk requests, assist various healthcare end-users, and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Analyze application performance issues, document configuration challenges, and support quality improvements. Produce project documentation, contribute to project management activities, and support process improvements. Minimum Requirements Attention to detail, customer service orientation, effective oral communication, and problem-solving skills. One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent, involving EHR system configuration, upgrades, and implementation. Certification in Oracle Cerner EHR Millennium Fundamentals or Oracle Cerner Millennium Core (proof required). Additional Information Position is full-time, with no promotion potential, covered by a bargaining unit. Eligible candidates may also be considered under the ESEP/MP procedures.
