High School ESL Teacher Grades 9-12 The purpose of the ESL Teacher is to provide academic instructional support to English Learners. S/he will develop and deliver lesson plans to groups and individual students utilizing academic development language standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Instructs English Learners for the purpose of improving their success in academics and skills Develops lesson plans and delivers group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines Adapts classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans Obtains training for and assists with the administration of language assessments for the purpose of evaluating student language proficiency (MODEL and/or W-APT and screenings, ACCESS test) Maintains organized records of documentation regarding student achievement in core courses Collaborates with English Learners coordinator and other staff to support students experiencing academic performance challenges related to English language learning Interprets student performance data and implements appropriate support structures Communicates and confers effectively both orally and in written form with students, parents, colleagues, and administration Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Illinois teaching certification PEL ESL certification K-12 Bachelor's degree Ability to make technically correct translations from English to Spanish and Spanish to English with speed and accuracy Knowledge of evidence-based language acquisition strategies #J-18808-Ljbffr Concept Schools
