Overview The Grant Writer assists with obtaining grant funding and coordinating activities to administer grants in collaboration with staff across departments. The Grant Writer works under the supervision of the Director of Grants with moderate latitude for independent judgment. The starting salary range for this position is between $58,000 - $64,000 annually. Responsibilities Research and identify opportunities for grant funding that align with the clinic’s mission, vision, and values. Write, edit, and submit compelling and clearly written letters of inquiry, grant applications, and reports to funders as assigned, with strong attention to deadlines. Collaborate with staff across departments to develop grant applications, develop well-informed budgets for grant proposals, assess progress on grant-funded activities/deliverables, monitor grant expenditures, and prepare status/performance reports, while ensuring compliance with grant requirements and deadlines. Maintain and populate tools to track grant submissions, decision status, requested and funded amounts, project timelines, and report deadlines. Prepare briefing documents (e.g., lists of current funding prospects, grant synopses), agendas, meeting minutes, and other materials as necessary. Support for the Director of Grants for applications, reports, and general oversight of grant-funded projects, programs, and initiatives. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with funders and community partners. Support other development initiatives, efforts, and events as needed. Identify opportunities to improve workflow, work processes, and work cooperatively to implement these and other quality improvements. Adhere to HIPAA guidelines. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Education, Public Health, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 3 - 5 years of grant writing experience, with a proven record of securing grant funding. Experience writing on public health, health care, or related topics preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of public health, health care, or related field. Excellent verbal and written skills and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences. Ability to craft a compelling, persuasive, and original narrative. Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands in a fast-paced environment. Must be efficient, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple projects. Strong interpersonal and professional skills when engaging with clinic staff, funders, and community partners. Strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications and platforms.
