Job Purpose

As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in introducing and implementing equipment for new model introductions at Honda facilities. Utilizing 3D CAD software and simulation tools, you will identify critical change points and summarize specifications to meet design requirements. You will lead projects as a functional Project Leader, PIC, or Subject Matter Expert, driving initiatives from inception to final design and assembly while collaborating with design teams and plant members to ensure quality, cost, and safety standards are met.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop optimal machine concepts for process characteristic changes using sound engineering principles.
  • Provide technical support for equipment/process and indirectly support Project Leadership.
  • Collaborate with external functions, including suppliers and plant resources.
  • Act as a direct project leader for small to midsized business plan projects, driving engineering perspectives.
  • Conduct detailed process studies of new model car parts to assess machine capabilities and provide feedback to designers.
  • Create Specification/Scope of Work documentation to summarize change points and establish criteria.
  • Provide online support during project installation phases to verify specification criteria.
  • Maintain a critical path schedule to ensure overall project milestones are met.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD systems and software.
  • Experience in automated equipment development.
  • Excellent technical communication skills, both written and oral.

Working Conditions

  • 85% Office environment for documentation creation.
  • 15% Manufacturing floor for direct investigations and support at Honda facilities.
  • Willingness to travel locally, regionally, and internationally as required for projects.
