Job Description

Security Leadership Meets Mission Impact.

As a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), you will be in a vital security leadership role that puts you at the forefront of safeguarding national security information by ensuring compliance with federal regulations, including NISPOM and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs).

You’ll serve as the central point of contact for all security matters related to the NGA’s TAC mission, acting as the primary liaison between contractor teams and government security offices. In this role, you’ll oversee all aspects of personnel and facility security to ensure secure, uninterrupted mission operations, while working closely with both government counterparts and contractor leadership. Your responsibilities will include managing security clearances, background investigations, and required briefings, while implementing rigorous security procedures and ensuring accurate and compliant documentation within established security systems and databases. You will lead efforts related to investigations, incident reporting, and compliance monitoring, while ensuring all personnel are properly trained on security protocols. This dynamic role combines strategic leadership, operational oversight, and strict policy compliance, making it an excellent fit for a security professional who thrives on precision, embraces accountability, and excels in collaborative, mission-driven environments.

If you're a security professional looking to take on a high-impact role where your expertise directly supports national security, then join XTS and you’ll have the opportunity to lead with purpose and make a difference!

Requirements:
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance accompanied by a current CI Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 11 years of security-related experience
    • Or at least 15 years of security-related experience in lieu of degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of security-related experience supporting the DoD or IC with a strong understanding of federal security policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience across multiple security domains such as personnel, physical, industrial, and operational security, with a comprehensive understanding of DoD and IC protocols, relevant certifications, and practical knowledge of tools, methodologies, and best practices applicable to both government and industry environments
  • Proven leadership experience directing, supervising, and coordinating the activities of security personnel to ensure consistent enforcement of security protocols, foster teamwork, and maintain mission-focused operations in a high-stakes government or contractor environment
  • Expertise in Special Access Programs (SAP) to effectively manage security and control access, ensuring sensitive programs are protected from potential risks and threats
  • Experience working with Security Classification Guides, classification reviews, and Registered Classification Officials (RCO) processes, along with expertise in physical security measures such as managing Co-Use Agreements and Compartmented Area Checklists to ensure proper safeguarding of classified information and facilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced team environments while ensuring clear coordination, accurate documentation, and professional interaction with both government stakeholders and contractor leadership
  • Ability to earn the DoD Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification IAW DoD Manual #3305.13M within 1 year of being hired, which is essential for maintaining compliance with DoD security standards
Desired:
  • Familiarity with security management tools and databases such as DISS, Scattered Castles, and other enterprise-level security systems to ensure accurate record-keeping and streamlined coordination with government security offices
  • Proven ability to conduct security audits, manage clearance processing, deliver security briefings, and support comprehensive security inspections to ensure ongoing compliance and operational integrity
  • Experience collaborating with Program Security Officers (PSOs), Contracting Officer’s Security Representatives (COSRs), and other government security officials to support security program execution and maintain regulatory compliance
