- This Vehicle System Test Engineer (VSTE) role is centered around the test and validation engineering aspects of ADAS features vehicle programs for OEM customers.
- Vehicle-level testing is conducted on test tracks to emulate real-world scenarios and evaluate features.
- A successful Vehicle Test Engineer has a self-starting mentality, enjoys working hands-on on a pays close attention to detail, and can navigate different tasks simultaneously.
Responsibilities: - Create test procedures, plans and test reports to support all vehicle testing activities.
- Conduct closed-course vehicle testing on various test tracks and proving grounds.
- Specify instrumentation & equipment on test vehicles, performing test driving and data collection.
- Support Test Architect Team in System Requirements analysis, test case mapping & linking
- Analyze data collected during testing to determine if the vehicle meets federal and internal requirements, and make recommendations to the internal design teams based on findings.
- Design, creation and implementation of data analysis scripts. Includes working with engineering teams to determine which parameters to calculate, writing robust scripts to do the analysis, and then presenting the trends and statistics to engineering teams on a weekly basis.
- Write test reports to document results of testing and to communicate issues found. Design test routes, interface with the Vehicle Operators in each location, detecting trends in the data and performing root-cause analysis on issues found.
Requirements: - 2+ years of vehicle-level testing experience with Autonomous Driving, or 3+ years vehicle-level testing experience in one of the following areas: Durability/Reliability, Vehicle Dynamics, Homologation
- 2+ years of experience in test equipment handling, data acquisition systems and data analysis
- Well versed with Automotive communication protocols CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, and Automotive Ethernet
- Technical writing proficiency for test procedures, plans and reports.
- Familiar with Vector tools for development and testing.
- Experience with V-Model Systems Engineering.
- Experience on data analysis with tools like MATLAB or Python.
- Basic working-knowledge of Autonomous Driving/ ADAS technology.
- Experience with leading meetings with external stakeholders to communicate test results and data in technical depth.
Preferred Skills: - Experience working with remote Technicians and Operators/Drivers
- Experience with NHTSA Levels 2-5 Autonomous Vehicles
- Basic knowledge of V-Model of Systems Engineering & working on relevant tools (Polarion/Doors etc.) to support product development lifecycle
- Familiar with JIRA tools/ other work management tools

Education: - Master's or equivalent graduate degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
