About the Position:

In this high-impact role, you will lead the validation and characterization of high-speed analog and mixed-signal blocks, working alongside cross-functional teams to launch cutting-edge ASIC products for data center networking. As part of a dynamic and innovative team, you will play a pivotal role in developing next-generation connectivity solutions that drive the future of data center networking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analog/Mixed-Signal Validation : Perform comprehensive validation and characterization of analog and mixed-signal IPs, including clock generation, timing IPs, data converters, TIAs, modulator drivers, clock and data recovery (CDR), and SerDes.
  • Bench Testing & Debugging : Utilize advanced test equipment to perform bench testing, debug issues, and validate control loops such as PLLs and LDOs.
  • EDA Tools : Leverage Cadence Virtuoso and other EDA tools to build test benches, run simulations, and analyze results for debugging and correlation.
  • Signal & Power Integrity : Conduct signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) measurements, and correlate results to identify and resolve design issues.
  • Test Development & Reporting : Develop, execute, and document robust test procedures, providing detailed reports and recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Standards Compliance : Debug compliance test failures of standard I/Os and assess design bugs to recommend effective workarounds.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with internal teams and end customers to ensure seamless integration and optimization of high-speed optical and electrical interconnects.
  • Programming & Analysis : Use MATLAB or Python for data analysis, test automation, and process optimization.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education : BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience : 12+ years in analog and mixed-signal IP validation and verification, particularly for high-speed data center networking and optical I/Os.

Technical Expertise :

  • Bench testing and debugging of high-speed designs.
  • Deep understanding of SI/PI, including PI and SI measurements for debugging and correlation.
  • Compliance testing and debugging of standard I/Os.
  • Hands-on experience with control loops such as PLLs and LDOs.

Software Skills : Proficiency with MATLAB or Python for test automation and data analysis.

Standards Knowledge : Familiarity with IEEE standards and high-speed optical/electrical interconnect architectures.

Problem-solving : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with attention to detail.

Collaboration & Organization : Ability to work effectively across internal teams and customer groups, with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with advanced packaging (2.5D/3D) architectures.
  • System knowledge of optical I/O technologies and silicon photonics-based transceiver architectures.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools such as DCO, oscilloscopes (oversampling/real-time), and network analyzers.
  • Familiarity with RF and high-speed probing techniques.
  • Proven ability to innovate and collaborate in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel when necessary to support projects.

This position offers a unique opportunity to drive technological innovation in data center networking and contribute to the success of industry-leading connectivity products. If you’re an expert in high-speed analog and mixed-signal validation, this role is tailored for you!
