Our client, a growing public accounting firm, is seeking an Enrolled Agent (EA) to join their team in a predominantly remote capacity. This role is ideal for a tax professional passionate about tax preparation and advisory services for individuals and small businesses. With 95% of the work performed remotely, you'll enjoy the flexibility of a work-from-home environment, with only 1-2 required visits annually to their Grand Rapids, MI office.  You must reside in Michigan to be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review individual and small business tax returns (1040, 1120, 1065).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws while providing high-quality tax planning services.
• Work closely with senior tax professionals to support more complex tax filings and resolve tax issues.
• Manage start-to-finish tax preparation processes for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

 

Qualifications:

• Active Enrolled Agent (EA) designation (required).
• 2+ years of experience in tax preparation with a focus on individual and small business returns.
• Familiarity with UltraTax CS or similar tax preparation software.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Previous experience in a public accounting firm 
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet client deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with a passion for providing high-quality client service.
• Desire to grow and develop in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
