Join Our Surgical Team!

Are you ready to make a difference in the operating room? As a vital member of our surgical team, you will work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. Your role will be crucial in ensuring quality nursing care and supporting our mission to deliver outstanding healthcare.

About Our Department

The Operating Room of Surgery is dedicated to providing top-notch intraoperative care for surgical and procedural sedation patients. We cater to a diverse patient population, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Collaborating with various specialties, we ensure that our patients receive the best possible care, whether they are going home the same day or being admitted to the hospital.

Your Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Prepare and maintain the operating room, including sterilization of instruments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth operations.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and their families.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification: Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon.
• Experience:
  • Option 1: Completion of a surgical technologist training program in the armed forces or U.S. Public Health Service.
  • Option 2: Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program and certification from the NBSTSA.
  • Option 3: Two years of surgical technology experience between January 1, 2014, and January 1, 2017.
• Skills:
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.
  • Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.
• Certifications: Healthcare Provider BLS required.
• Preferred: Experience or training in computer applications.

Physical Demands

This role requires a range of physical activities, including:

• Occasional lifting of 40-60 lbs and carrying of 20-40 lbs.
• Frequent walking, standing, and manual dexterity tasks.
• Ability to perform various movements such as bending, kneeling, and reaching.
