Job Title: Structural Welder
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding and fabricating structural steel components for various construction and industrial projects. This role requires experience in welding techniques, blueprint reading, and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Use 3/32 and 0.45 wire to weld and fabricate structural steel components, including beams, columns, and girders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate assembly.
• Operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, and stick welders.
• Cut and shape metal using plasma cutters, grinders, and other tools.
• Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and construction teams to meet project goals.
• Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow safety protocols and industry standards to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Perform post-welding activities such as grinding, cleaning, and polishing.

• Proven experience in structural welding and metal fabrication.
• Proficiency in MIG and stick welding techniques using 3/32 and 0.45 wire.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in challenging environments, including heights.

• Experience with structural steel, MIG fabrication, and MIG structural welding.
• Familiarity with blueprints, shop drawings, and fitting.
• Skilled in the use of oxy acetylene torch and common welding shop tools.
• Knowledge of flux core and production welding.

Work Environment

Work in a large structural steel production facility in El Mirage, AZ, which is somewhat climate-controlled with swamp coolers and fans. The facility is organized and constantly improving with new lines and equipment. Enjoy the benefits of working both indoors and outdoors in this dynamic setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Mirage, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
