STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Our client , a well-established and values-driven company in the real estate industry, is seeking a strong Staff Accountant to join their accounting team on a temporary basis. About the RoleDue to recent leadership transitions and department changes, the team is seeking a Staff Accountant to help get caught up on day-to-day accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will bring 1-3 years of relevant experience, a degree in Accounting, and a willingness to focus on execution rather than process improvement during this time of transition.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Staff Accountant will report directly to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for:
Perform daily cash reconciliations and support cash activity across multiple bank accounts, ensuring timely and accurate entries.
Prepare and book daily cash journal entries and record all related transactions in the general ledger.
Book and reconcile outgoing wire transactions ensuring proper documentation and ledger accuracy.
Take ownership of account reconciliations, maintaining your section of reconciliations monthly as part of a larger reconciliation portfolio
Partner with the accounting team to support monthly close activities, with a focus on journal entries, reconciliations, and cash-related processes.
Conduct financial analysis and review, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement related to cash activity and account balances.
Maintain compliance with internal controls and company accounting policies.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
3+ years of relevant accounting experience
Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and sorting/filtering large data sets
Previous experience with larger ERP systems
Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused in a heads-down work environment
Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite, 2 remote
Standard hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, no anticipated overtime
