Sr ASIC/FPGA Electrical Engineer Canonsburg, PA Contract Position Pay Estimated: $72.24-$84.50/Hour This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors, (geographical location, etc.) Ability to Obtain and Maintain Secret Clearance Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains. Responsibilities: * Define, design, verify, and document ASIC and FPGA development projects.
* Determine architecture, module interfaces, system simulation strategies, and detailed design approaches.
* Perform RTL design, synthesis, place and route, timing analysis, and power optimization.
* Create and execute test and simulation plans; analyze performance to meet functional and design requirements.
* Review and evaluate vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, libraries, and design tools.
* Develop and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and design artifacts.
* Support technical presentations and reviews with internal teams, customers, and stakeholders.
* Participate in or lead small proposal efforts and contribute to technical subcontract management.
* Apply and improve defined engineering processes throughout the project lifecycle.
* Lead small teams or technical tasks and provide guidance to junior engineers.
* Ensure successful execution and delivery of major engineering programs and projects. Qualifications: * U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field; (Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience)
* 8+ years of ASIC/FPGA design experience (or 6+ years with a Master's degree).
* Must be eligible for a DoD Secret clearance; active clearance preferred.
* Strong expertise in ASIC/FPGA development flows, including RTL design, synthesis, timing, and simulation.
* Familiarity with industry-standard tools (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, Synopsys, ModelSim, Mentor Graphics, etc.)
* Experience with hardware description languages (HDLs) such as VHDL or Verilog/SystemVerilog.
* Working knowledge of design verification, static timing analysis, and power utilization analysis.
* Understanding of engineering project principles including EVMS, CAM, SPI/CPI, and process control.
