Mindful and Modern ABA Therapies and Maria Montessori International Academy
are looking for a Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) that works under the direction and
supervision of a Speech and Language Pathologist. Speech and Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is a
state-certified support professional responsible for treating students experiencing communication problems
that affect classroom activities, social interaction, literacy and learning.
Mindful and Modern ABA pairs our center-based ABA program with an in-house Montessori school, making
it truly one-of-a-kind in the Indianapolis area. This collaborative and innovative approach to ABA allows our
neuro diverse children to work on communication as well as play, social, daily living, and classroom skills in

Job Details:
· You will assist in supplementing, enhancing, and extending speech/language therapy services by
completing a variety of tasks such as (but not limited to): activities with clients designed to develop
pre-language and language skills, oral-motor control for speech production, vocalization, and use of
assistive technology devices for communication under the supervision of the SLP
· SLPAs are expected to work closely with Occupational Therapists, BCBAs, RBTs, and Special
Education and Montessori Teachers as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the
completion of their work activities.
· Performs other responsibilities as may be assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and
effective functioning of the department.
· Documentation, daily reports to parents/therapists, creative development of treatment activities, set
up and clean up for SLP, and general cleaning of therapy space and supplies.
· Prepares materials and follows speech language lessons appropriate for individuals or small group
(e.g. speech therapy, teaching materials, etc.).
· Attends meetings in the presence of supervising Speech Language Pathology (SLP) (e.g.
departmental, multidisciplinary team, etc.) for the purpose of receiving and/or conveying
information.
· Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Active speech-language pathology assistant license issued by the state department of education
(preferred) and/or state board AND
· Active American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
Certificate (ASHA C-SLPA) AND
· Two (2) years of speech/language work experience within a public-school setting OR
· Equivalent combination of education and experience
Certificates and Licenses: Speech Language Pathology Assistant license
