Job Description:

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing a variety of accounting functions ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing strategic support for financial planning. This role requires strong technical accounting skills attention to detail and the ability to manage complex accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare review and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Perform monthend quarterend and yearend close processes including journal entries account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices payments and collections.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts providing financial insights and recommendations to management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations including the preparation and filing of tax returns.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data.
  • Support the external audit process by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Develop and document accounting policies procedures and internal controls to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff fostering a collaborative and highperforming team environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
  • Assist with special projects such as system implementations process improvements and financial analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 46 years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting account reconciliation and general ledger maintenance.
  • Proven experience in agriculture manufacture or construction industry is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
  • Experience with tax compliance and audit processes is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
