About the Role
The Company is in search of a full-time Senior Director for State and Local Government Affairs. The successful candidate will be tasked with the development and execution of government affairs strategies and public policy agendas for a specific region. This role involves identifying and monitoring state and local legislation that is of priority to the company's membership, as well as building and maintaining relationships with state association members, policymakers, and other industry-related organizations. The Senior Director will also be responsible for communicating relevant legislative developments to the membership, coordinating lobbying campaigns, and supporting the Senior Vice President in strategic initiatives. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in political science, communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience, with 8-12 years' in state and/or local government or advocacy. A deep knowledge of the legislative process at all levels is essential, as is a minimum of 4-5 years' experience working with city and local government representatives, particularly within the Southern California region. The role requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent project management, communication, and decision-making skills, who can work effectively in diverse political environments. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting, with a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
