We're seeking a detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Buffalo, NY. This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $90,000 and presents an exciting opportunity to drive financial excellence in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities• Collaborate with cross-functional finance teams to ensure consistent application of corporate cost accounting policies
• Develop and maintain operational rates, cost planning, and inventory analysis
• Utilize ERP systems for evaluating Bills of Material, Routing, and Labor/Overhead rates
• Assist in annual cost budgeting and forecasting processes
• Partner with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams on cost estimates and profitability analysis
• Support senior leadership on special financial projects
• Analyze inventory levels and assess excess/obsolete inventory across locations
• Liaise with external auditors on product costing and inventory valuations
• Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions for cost variances
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (required)
• CPA or CMA certification (preferred)
• 3+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing (required)
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems
• Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and US GAAP
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Experience interacting with senior management
