As a Security Officer - Shelter Unarmed Full-Time in New York, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more .

As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal, you will play an important role in helping to maintain a secure environment within a shelter location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols throughout the premises, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents, and interacting with residents, staff, and visitors with professionalism and respect. You will be counted on to provide exceptional customer service, respond to inquiries, and communicate clearly with all individuals you encounter. What You'll Do:

    Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within the shelter environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, assisting with de-escalation and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and to observe and report any unusual conditions or behaviors.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and site protocols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, staff, and visitors to promote a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying credentials, and reporting unauthorized individuals as necessary.
  • Support shelter staff during emergencies by following established protocols and providing assistance as directed by supervisory personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
