The AWS customer-facing security services team is looking for an experienced Security Engineer to support our customers, develop new capabilities, and simplify cloud security. Responsibilities include:

• Defining customer use cases and requirements
• Staying updated on cloud threat vectors and configurations
• Designing and prototyping security solutions
• Driving security value into software services
• Educating customers on product features and best practices
• Training stakeholders on security standards and practices

Successful candidates will be strong leaders with expertise in customer cloud-based risk identification, remediation assessment, attack vectors, and modern security solutions like XDR, CNAPP, and SIEM. Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and experience prototyping security software are essential.

A day in the life

This role involves managing the entire lifecycle of security features, from proposal and prototyping to active collaboration for deployment. You will work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and security teams.

About The Team

You will join a small, autonomous team focused on delivering value to customer security teams through our security services.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• 3+ years programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or similar
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as DNS, TCP/IP
• Up-to-date knowledge of cloud risk scenarios and attack vectors

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS products and services
• Experience with threat modeling and risk identification techniques
• Familiarity with AWS logs and environments, and other cloud providers like Azure and GCP
• Knowledge of the Open Cybersecurity Schema Framework (OCSF)
• Deep understanding of security data, SIEM, XDR, and SOAR solutions
• Excellent communication skills
