General Summary of Position

MedStar Harbor Hospital Float Pool Overview

Floats pool nurses work on different units throughout MedStar Harbor Hospital as needed. We offer an additional $10.00/hr float pool bonus and our lucrative MedStar Health benefit package. Although we are seeking those with significant critical care and Med Surg RN experience for these roles, MedStar Harbor Hospital’s Float Pool RNs have historically worked in the following units: neuro/ortho med surg telemetry, stepdown/IMC, critical care, ED and ED Boarders.

Schedule:

Full Time Nights: three 12-hour shifts & every 3rd weekend with full benefits

 

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 2 years RN experience required; two years of Critical Care and Med Surg RN experience strongly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required. ACLS strongly preferred.
