Job Responsibilities
Purpose of the Position : Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols and/or procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, the promotion of health, and the maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols. Provides case management and follow-up of all known TB clients to ensure timely and appropriate treatment. Collaborates with local physicians, hospitals, substance abuse centers, correctional facilities, and community organizations to promote TB education and ensure continuity of care. Adheres to HIPAA regulations. This position works to promote the health and safety of the residents of Cobb and Douglas Counties.
Essential Functions Included (but Are Not Limited To)- Identifies high risk populations and tailor interventions based on the needs of the population and the resources available.
- Provides treatments, administers medication/vaccines, and provides preventive and maintenance care to patient/families consistent with the care plan and/or physician treatment plan.
- Screens and refers clients to other community service providers.
Minimum Qualifications RN 2 Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
$61,706.94 Annually/Pay Grade L RN 3 Minimum Qualifications - Internal Only : Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of nursing experience AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND Two years of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
$68,519.83 Annually/Pay Grade M *** Current state employees’ salary will be subject to State Personnel Board rule provisions. If you have questions regarding salary, please do not hesitate to contact WA***
Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Professional experience in public health nursing. Experience in the specialized area of assignment. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Some public health and infectious disease experience is helpful. The ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and written.
Work Conditions & Physical Demands This position does not require a lot of physical exertion. May require some lifting, but no more than 50 lbs. Not always a sedentary position; will require some walking to/from and in/out of chair. It does require the flexibility of working in various areas of the clinic when necessary and some outreach. Confidentiality and precise data entry is a must. Punctuality and assigned work schedule.
