Job Overview

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QuickBooks Bookkeeper to join our remote team on a part-time contract basis. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in bookkeeping and financial operations, deep experience with QuickBooks Online, and the ability to manage multiple clients with professionalism and accuracy. Responsiveness, organization, and meeting deadlines are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Financial Management

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records for multiple clients using QuickBooks Online.

  • Perform regular bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations (e.g., prepaid expenses, fixed assets, payroll liabilities).

  • Prepare and review financial statements including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.

Accounts Receivable & Payable

  • Manage accounts payable; ensure timely entry and payment of bills.

  • Reconcile invoices to payments and clear outstanding balances.

Sales Tax & Payroll

  • Prepare and file sales tax returns across multiple jurisdictions; assist with new state account registrations.

  • Process payroll, including wage calculations, tax withholdings, and payroll tax filings.

Special Projects

  • Support ad hoc projects such as historical bookkeeping cleanups, monthly close schedules, account reconciliations, and process improvements.

  • Assist with year-end closings and preparation of client financials for tax filings.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a client-based environment.

  • Strong QuickBooks Online proficiency; experience with multiple clients is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills; able to work independently.

  • Detail- and deadline-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Clear, professional communication and reliable responsiveness.

Technical Requirements

  • Reliable internet connection and dedicated home office setup.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace (Sheets, Drive, Docs).

  • Familiarity with software such as Bill.com, ClickUp, Track1099, TPI, Gusto, Shopify, Stripe, and Square is a plus.
