Job Description Summary The
Production Control Clerk III performs clerical tasks in the production control function. One coordinates and controls work orders released to Production as well as goods moving back and forth between Production and Flight Team.
Position Responsibilities - Executes material repair orders when necessary to move product from SMRB to the repair work cell
- Coordinates and alleviates identified work order part shortages by working closely with Purchasing, Quality and Production Planners
- Updates and prioritizes the rework board in the production area, coordinating with production planners
- Proactively monitors and expedites identified shortage parts that are in 'inspection' status, through quality, stockroom and onto work orders that are waiting for shortage parts
- Works with the production leads to help move urgent product from one cell to another or through the stockroom
- Issues items in a timely manner to work orders that are being collected and processed in the sell-off area
- Notifies planners in a timely manner of rejected, identified shortage parts or rejected production builds
- Works with Quality to ensure identified shortage parts do not sit in SMRB for an extraordinarily long period
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgement in resolving issues. Follows established procedures on routine work and may require instruction on new assignments
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)- High School diploma or GED Equivalent is required
- Minimum of 2 -4 years of experience in a production environment or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Experienced working with MRP systems, material planning, inventory control and the generation and maintenance of work orders is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of computerized MRP systems is critical
- Experienced in and understands inventory control methods and production control techniques is essential
- Experienced inputting and maintaining demand in a computerized MRP system
- Demonstrated understanding of Bills of Material structures
- Has strong computer operation skills as well as proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Demonstrated competency in making decisions and formulating / executing alternative plans when the need arises
Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies - Any APICS training and/or certification is desirable, especially as it pertains to inventory control and material planning
- Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks
- Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail and strong sense of urgency to meet schedule
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees in the Company
- Receives little instructions on daily work and general instructions on newly introduced assignments
- Must be able to work closely with the Planning, Purchasing and Production departments
- Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
- Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives
- Takes ownership and responsibility for current and past work products
- Is committed to learning from mistakes and driven to improve and enhance performance of oneself, others, and the company

Physical Demands - Ability to work in a manufacturing environment (Constant)
- Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Constant)
- Frequently lift and/or carry objects of small size between 2lbs and 5lbs
- Frequently required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and balance
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
The salary range for this role is:
$20 - $29
