The Opportunity
As a Process/Chemical Engineer 1, you would function as a technical specialist, developing process solutions, performing treatment evaluations, and developing designs for facility enhancements. With some direction, you will develop and apply fundamental process engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to solve complex water quality treatment problems. You will provide technical assistance on Industrial projects.
Duties may include:
* Setup and run models to evaluate equipment and optimize performance
* Develop recommendations for equipment, operating ranges, chemical type and range for both existing and new facilities
* Develops familiarity by reading, understanding, and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and Black and Veatch policies and procedures
* Contributes to preparation of less complex engineering deliverables such as drawings, reports, specifications, and studies of limited scope
* Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
* Collects, assimilates, and manages data for engineering work
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biological Systems Engineering. FE Obtained
* Experience or knowledge in Chemical Feed, Industrial Water Treatment, NextGen Ag preferred
* Strong background and expertise in environmental water, chemical, or biological processes and engineering systems
* Knowledge of water or wastewater treatment process engineering principles or process modeling software
* Technical Skills in leadership, collaboration, communication, and teamwork
Minimum Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
Work Environment
Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location.
