The Palliative Medicine team at Hennepin Healthcare seeks a physician to provide quality, comprehensive inpatient care to the patients of Hennepin Healthcare . Our team is composed of physicians, advanced practice providers and a licensed clinical social worker. We also partner with other departments (spiritual care) in the organization to provide specialty palliative care. Our work involves helping patients navigate complex treatment decisions, discussing goals of care, completing advance care documents, and complex symptom management. Our providers work closely with learners throughout the hospital. Physicians are expected to take an active role in teaching fellows, residents, and medical students through direct patient care, formal and informal lectures, and grand rounds presentations to the Department of Medicine. Our Palliative MedicineDivision faculty may be eligible for academic rank at the University of Minnesota. This position has flexibility of being hired at 0.4-0.8 FTE dependent on the candidate. This position is primarily Monday-Friday day hours – with weekend coverage split between physicians . No overnights/call.Holiday coverage split by physicians in-person or by phone. Note: a physician must work at least 0.5 FTE to receive a benefits package. Minimum Qualifications: Completion of ACGME-approved residency Completion of fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine Board Certified/Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Minnesota (or be eligible for licensure) Required Skills: Work with interdisciplinary colleagues Work with and educate learners of all levels (medical students, residents, fellows) We offer a competitive compensation plan based on your skills and experience/training related to this position, and internal equity.
