Pediatric Surgery Opportunity Columbia, SC Prisma Health, the largest not-for-profit healthcare provider in South Carolina, seeks a BC/BE pediatric surgeon to join a growing team of three physicians and three advanced practice providers. Your role is primarily clinical with involvement in supervising and teaching of medical students, pediatric residents, and surgical residents. Our Children`s Hospital has been recognized nationally repeatedly for its quality accomplishments. Details: Busy clinical practice with two operative days per surgeon with dedicated pediatric operation rooms and two half-day clinics at office on campus Cover Pediatric Trauma up to 14 years of age with heavy support from adult trauma services and surgical resident team Four advanced practice providers help with patient care on the floors and after hours, two residents on service The only ACS Verified Level II Pediatric Trauma center in the region. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) provides state-of-the-art care with 24 hour in house intensivist coverage 34 pediatrics specialties that include: radiology, orthopedics, neurosurgery, ENT, anesthesiology, neonatology Highlights: Call 1:4, no floor or office calls after hours Competitive pay with bonus, 403b with match, 457b plan, additional retirement accounts available Public Service Loan Forgiveness employer Practice in single location with on campus office Faculty appointment with USC School of Medicine with additional benefits The Department of Pediatrics has a record of academic achievement and financial success. The Department which includes 20 subspecialty divisions along with our freestanding Children's Hospital presently provides 160,000 patient encounters annually with close to 10,000 inpatient admissions and over 35,000 pediatric emergency room visits. The Department has been recognized as the best teaching clinical rotation for 32 out of the last 35 years.
