Absolute Staffing is searching for a Payroll Specialist on behalf of our client.
**MUST live within 1 hour of Linthicum Heights, MD**

Pay rate: $23/hour
Position Summary
Self-Directed Services works to provide financial service support to a specialized group of employers across the state of Maryland. A Payroll Specialist works within the Payroll team to ensure a proper and timely bi-weekly payroll for participant employees. The Payroll Specialist facilitates open communication with all program stakeholders regarding program and internal policy and procedure. The Payroll Specialist must be very versatile and able to successfully manage multiple demands and processing deadlines.
Position Responsibilities Essential Functions
· Perform a broad range of payroll activities including entering timecards, reconciling with participant budgets, reviewing errors, and analysis of data.
· Communicate with employees, employers and their support teams regarding program requirements and internal policy and procedure.
· Provide timely and professional responses to employees, employers, and planning teams at large.
· Work in collaboration with Accounts Payable, Financial Reporting, Stakeholder Relations, and Outreach.
· Support and implement processes that support automation and accuracy.
Other Functions
· Maintain an understanding of self-direction and fiscal management services
· As needed, assist with the general operations of Self-Directed Services
· Perform other duties as assigned
· High School Diploma or GED required; BS in business or related field preferred
· Minimum of 1 year of experience in Payroll, Knowledge and experience with Payroll software is a plus
· Strong attention to detail required for successful job placement
· Professional and responsive in communication, conduct and interact with co-workers; works well as part of a team
· Able to work independently, determine priorities and implement necessary actions in order to meet reporting and processing deadlines
· Possess integrity, accuracy, and ability to get things done in an efficient, respectful, and competent manner
· Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding and ever-changing environment
· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other HR/payroll technology tools

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. The ability to get to meetings and events in Maryland is required.

Work Environment
This position regularly works remotely from home or office like setting. Regular use of office equipment such as but not limited to, VoIP, printer, scanner, and computer.
Work Schedule
This position is full-time. Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday during office hours (M-F 8am-4:30pm). This position is remote but is required to attend quarterly in-person team meetings, and other in-person meetings or trainings.
