Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and trainable individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Networking Technician . This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in networking or low-voltage cabling. You will assist in installing and maintaining network cabling, data jacks, and related equipment under the guidance of experienced technicians. No prior experience required — we will provide on-the-job training. Travel required.
Responsibilities:
Pull, route, and terminate Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber-optic network cables
Install wall jacks, patch panels, and cable management systems
Assist with setting up racks, network closets, and cable trays
Label and document cable runs accurately
Follow safety procedures and company standards on job sites
Maintain tools and work area in clean and organized condition
Support senior technicians with basic network hardware installation and testing
Learn and apply industry standards for structured cabling (TIA/EIA)
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Willing to travel
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior technicians
Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in ceilings or tight spaces
Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail
Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred (Not Required):
Basic knowledge of network cabling or electrical work
Experience with hand tools, drills, or cable testing tools
Interest in pursuing IT or network cabling certifications (e.g., BICSI, CompTIA Network+)
