Position: Medical Director (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist)
We are currently seeking a compassionate and innovative Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team as the Medical Director. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in psychiatric oversight and support our outpatient clinical operations. You will also contribute to the agency's vision and program development. Collaborating with licensed therapists, clinical and executive directors, and other prescribing staff members, you will be an integral part of our community mental health team.
Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct comprehensive psychopharmacological evaluations for clients seeking medication services.
Provide non-face-to-face services, including phone consultations with physicians, pharmacies, clients, and/or parents/guardians.
Review, prescribe, and monitor medications for clients, ensuring their needs are met.
Document all client-related contacts accurately and thoroughly.
Consult on program development, helping to create new initiatives that support the mental health of children and youth in our community. In a landscape with high demand for mental health treatment, we value exploring innovative delivery methods.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to establish partnerships with psychiatry fellowship programs, with the aim of supervising fellows on-site to enhance access to care for our clients.
Provide case consultations and training as requested.
Educate and coordinate with local primary care providers and pediatricians to foster collaborative care.
Participate in the agency's Quality Management process as needed.
Be available for after-hours phone consultations on an as-needed basis.
Offer guidance to clinicians regarding diagnostic impressions and psychopharmacological recommendations.
Maintain clinical case records and all required documentation in accordance with clinic guidelines.
Uphold agency confidentiality and adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics.
Ensure compliance with billing and client documentation requirements as mandated by Medicaid and insurance providers, including prior authorizations when necessary.
Adhere to state and federal licensing requirements, including maintaining appropriate continuing education units (CEUs).
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Three to five years of direct practice experience with the juvenile and young adult population is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $250,000 to $310,000 per year
