Job Description - Manager, Product & Promotional Development, Lottery Games (240008HA)

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for maximizing net profits of all Lottery product lines. Manage the development of new products and systems. Create and manage related promotions. Manage budgetary tasks with the Lottery’s advertising agency. Provide detailed analytical data of sales trends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Manages day-to-day business needs for Lottery products.
  2. Create, maintain and implement Lottery games and promotions as well as new product development.
  3. Analyzes product sales and manages changes if/when needed.
  4. Orders and manages distribution and inventory of promotional items and agent supplies.
  5. Manages budgetary tasks related to Lottery’s relationship with advertising agency.
  6. Manages timetables associated with new and ongoing advertising campaigns and promotions.
  7. Analyzes product sales results before and after advertising buys and promotional campaigns.
  8. Works with ad agency accounting contact to maintain and organize all pertinent documentation.
  9. Performs other advertising related tasks as assigned.
  10. Works in cooperation with other Lottery departments as needed.
  11. Responsible for supervision and related tasks for personnel affiliated with Lottery games and graphic design.
  12. Research and analyze market trends, new concepts, advertising and promotional ideas, which might be utilized for increased revenue.
  13. Represents the Lottery at public events relating to Lottery marketing and promotional efforts including occasional nights and weekends.
  14. Manages approved changes and plan requirements for research projects so that data produced will support required needs of alternate concepts being considered for future change.
  15. Establishes annual market plans which include sales objectives, promotional plans, listing of point of purchase materials, implementing potential change(s) in product lines, retail agent network engagement, and all objectives, tools and costs associated with each.
  16. Must be able to travel statewide, as required.
  17. Must have a valid driver's license.
  18. Must be available to work promotional events on nights and weekends occasionally.
  19. Performs related duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. College degree or the equivalent marketing experience.
  2. Knowledge of marketing principles and techniques.
  3. Ability to meet goals.
  4. Strong analytical and communications skills with the ability to write concise reports.
  5. Possess creativity and imagination.
  6. Familiarity of Lottery, products and procedures.
  7. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
