Role Summary

We are seeking a talented individual to operate both manual and CNC machining equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that components meet precise dimensions and tolerances while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. If you have a knack for problem-solving and a passion for precision, this could be the perfect fit for you!

This is a 1st Shift Position in Raleigh, NC.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment.
• Edit programs directly on CNC machines.
• Machine components to meet exact print dimensions and tolerances.
• Utilize precision measuring tools, including:
• Outside micrometers
• Inside micrometers
• Depth micrometers
• Digital, dial, and vernier calipers
• Scales
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment, driving improvements in safety and efficiency.
• Complete all associated paperwork accurately.
• Stay current with required training.
• Work on a variety of parts and processes across multiple machines.
• Resolve most problems within defined parameters.
• Provide guidance to junior team members as needed.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Commitment to a zero-accident safety culture.
• Strong math skills, including basic trigonometry and fraction-to-decimal conversions.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Solid understanding of G-code and/or conversational programming for CNC machines.
• Experience with precision measuring tools.
• Knowledge of fixturing and safe work holding.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• Experience with cast materials.
• Basic rigging and overhead crane operation.
• Understanding of turning and milling insert geometries and grades.
• Knowledge of cut conditions, including feeds, speeds, and depths of cut.
• Previous experience machining stainless alloys.

Working Conditions

• First shift: Monday to Friday, 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM.
• Second shift: Monday to Friday, 02:45 PM - 11:15 PM.
• Overtime as required (36-hour notice for required overtime).
