Position Overview:

Assists the Health and Nutrition Program Manager in implementing the health services component of the Head Start program.

Where will I be working?

• Central Office

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Disseminates necessary health information to staff and parents as requested.
• Conducts vision and hearing screenings as well as height and weight health assessments and is responsible for the documentation and organization of data.
• Assists with arranging screening processes and being involved as needed for recruitment and enrollment activities.
• Provides health education information and follow-up with parents after screening processes.
• Records chart information for child’s file.
• Assists in setting up and providing training for staff and/or parents.
• Provides health, nutrition and or physical fitness lessons in classrooms

Required Education and Experience:

• State of Michigan Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required. Certification (or willingness to obtain certification) to conduct vision and hearing testing for children.
• Two years’ experience working or volunteering with children in a school or pediatric health setting. Experience conducting screenings, collection of documentation, and organizing health information preferred.
