Library Assistant – Ponderosa High School Overview Join the library team at Ponderosa High School where we promote literacy, support students, and engage the community. This full‑time position is open until filled. Base Pay Range $17.30/hr – $26.64/hr Responsibilities Organize and reshelve returned items Manage loans between district school libraries (ILL loans) Maintain and repair library materials Catalog and manage materials using Destiny Follow district media policy and board policies Assist students and staff with print and digital resources Answer phone calls and keep a clean, organized environment Participate in special library/literacy events Record‑keep all library resources (full inventory every two years) Train, schedule, and manage student assistants/aides and volunteers Attend district trainings on Destiny, databases, digital resources, collection development, weeding, purchasing, etc. Loan and process returned library materials Qualifications Education High School diploma or equivalent (required) Skills Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Basic library management knowledge (Destiny and Dewey Decimal System) Effective oral and written communication in English Customer service and positive attitude Comfortable reading aloud to students Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and support positive outcomes Position Type Full time – Regular (0.63 FTE) Benefits Health, vision, dental, HSA, FSA, paid life and accidental death, long‑term disability, critical illness, EAP, 401(k), 403(b), 457 retirement plan options.
