Job Details:

As the Lead Cyber Security Engineer - Privacy, you will spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of privacy policies and practices to ensure that our organization’s data handling and processing activities comply with global privacy laws and regulations. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate privacy by design into all systems and processes, managing privacy risk, and ensuring our organization’s adherence to data protection standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive privacy frameworks and strategies to safeguard personal data and ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and risk assessments to identify potential privacy risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks and address vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure adherence to international and local privacy regulations, standards, and industry best practices. Monitor changes in privacy laws and adjust policies and practices as necessary.
  • Develop, update, and enforce privacy policies and procedures. Ensure that privacy practices are consistently applied across all organizational processes and systems.
  • Work closely with IT, legal, HR, compliance, and other departments to integrate privacy requirements into business processes, software development, and other operations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on privacy best practices and their roles in protecting personal data. Foster a culture of privacy awareness within the organization.
  • Participate in privacy incidents and breaches, ensuring timely and effective remediation. Participate in investigations and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve issues.
  • Provide support for privacy-related operational activities (e.g., consent collection, fulfilling data subject access requests, etc.).
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of privacy-related activities, including risk assessments, compliance audits, and policy updates. Prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by providing advice on privacy-related projects and initiatives. Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes concerning privacy and data protection.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Accounting, Law, or a related field.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in privacy engineering or data protection roles within an enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience in privacy risk assessment, impact assessments, and the implementation of privacy mitigation strategies.
  • Strong understanding of global privacy regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
  • Experience with privacy management tools and platforms.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing privacy policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex privacy issues clearly to stakeholders at various levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in privacy engineering or a related field with a focus on data protection and compliance.
  • Experience facilitating privacy projects and initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of privacy and data protection frameworks and standards.
  • Expertise in privacy management platforms and tools.
  • Deep understanding of the impact of emerging technologies (e.g., AI, cloud computing) on privacy and data protection.
  • Advanced proficiency in privacy risk assessment and management, including quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, including experience facilitating cross-functional teams and large-scale privacy initiatives.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Privacy certifications required (e.g., IAPP).
  • Knowledge of ethical business practices and frameworks.
  • Advanced or specialized certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or similar.
  • Experience with automation and scripting for privacy management processes.
  • Ability to design and implement comprehensive privacy architectures and frameworks.
