Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Bus Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining buses and other fleet vehicles. A CDL (Commercial Drivers License) is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ordering parts and maintaining all required maintenance documentation and paperwork in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

*Key Responsibilities:*
* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in buses and related vehicles.
* Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake inspections, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
* Repair and replace defective parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and HVAC systems.
* Order parts and supplies as needed while managing inventory efficiently.
* Maintain detailed service records and complete required paperwork for all repairs and inspections.
* Perform DOT inspections and ensure fleet compliance with safety regulations.
* Operate buses for test drives and when relocating vehicles within the yard or to service locations.
* Collaborate with other mechanics, drivers, and management to ensure vehicles are serviced promptly.
* Adhere to company safety policies and procedures at all times.
* Experience with Fleetio is a plus

*Qualifications:*
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training is a plus.
* Minimum 3 years of experience as a diesel or bus mechanic.
* Valid CDL (Class B or higher) with passenger endorsement preferred (or ability to obtain).
* Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, and electrical diagnostics.
* Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools safely and effectively.
* Experience with parts ordering systems and inventory management.
* Proficient in completing maintenance reports and documentation.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

*Physical Requirements:*
* Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
* Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
* Comfortable working in various weather conditions and in a garage environment.
