Junior Full Stack Developer
(Full-Time / Salary: $85,000 plus benefits)
United University Professions (UUP) is the largest higher education union in the United States with more than 35,000 academics and professionals at the State University of New York’s state-operated campuses, and public teaching hospitals and health sciences centers.
UUP is looking for a motivated individual to work full-time in a member-focused environment as a Junior Full Stack Developer. Working directly with a Senior Full Stack Developer, this on-site position will be responsible for continuing development of a custom database driven web application. This module-based system has been in process for approximately 8 months and the selected candidate will need to continue working in the existing environment.
Similar web-based projects will be assigned after the initial work is completed, with the goal of unifying additional stand-alone systems. Must have a team first attitude with a willingness to explore new ideas and be flexible with ever-changing projects and requirements. The preferred candidate will have the following abilities:
· Extensive experience with relational databases
· Familiarity with modern programming languages and framework, preferably what is
currently in use; Go Lang, React, JavaScript, and Daisy UI
· Project based experience from design to implementation
· Ability to articulate and document all code and queries used
· Strong system design skills to build with flexibility, room for growth, and integration with
existing data structures
· Critical thinking to interpret requests versus data requirements and provide problem-
solving solutions
· Strong verbal and communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer programming, or another relevant field required. Experience is a must as the project complexity and timeline requires the preferred candidate to begin code development immediately after learning the business and system rules. Candidates will be required to provide working example(s) of relevant data projects or references of previous work to demonstrate competency.
Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to Luke Williams (lwilliams@uupmail.org). UUP does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or age.
