Areté is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator III to work in our Healdsburg , CA facility. The candidate will report directly to the regional IT Manager and provide support for the day-to-day administrative operations of the IT department. Selected candidates must be eligible to obtain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI access and may be subject to passing a CI Polygraph. The selected candidates will collaborate with other Cyber Security and IT staff members, travel occasionally, and provide some afterhours support. Candidates will also support a variety of information systems at varying levels of complexity on the classified and corporate networks. This is an exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Integrating, upgrading, and managing domain services and infrastructure systems in a Microsoft Windows Server environment.
  • Configuring and administering various line of business applications, IT/Cyber Tools, and other software solutions.
  • Recommending improvements to the company's IT services.
  • Contributing to computer and network security using a variety of security-based products.
  • Managing data backup and restoration systems for the local facility.
  • Some administration and maintenance of client computers and solutions in various LAN environments.
  • Providing end user support for local office
  • Maintaining software licensing records and providing support to IT budget planning sessions.
  • Mentoring other IT staff and leading technical projects.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Experiences and Background We Look For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related discipline and/or current, applicable industry-standard certifications (MCSA/Azure, CCNA, Security+, RHCSA);
  • Minimum of 5 years working as a Windows System Administrator, Linux Systems Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role;
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Security+CE or equivalent certification for DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II or higher within 90 days of employment;
  • Proficiency with domain services utilizing Windows Server including Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, DFS, and DHCP.
  • Advanced IT troubleshooting skills and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work autonomously and on a team.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce technical documentation.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Nice to have:
  • Active Top Secret security clearance;
  • System administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 or later.
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Microsoft 365, Azure or AWS Administration, SharePoint, Veeam Backup & Replication, or SCCM Configuration Manager
  • Familiarity with classified information system Cyber Security tools and technologies (Nessus/ACAS, SCAP Compliance Checker, DISA STIGs).
  • Experience collaborating with Cyber Security professionals
The salary range for this role is $85,000 to $115,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills .
