Information Technology Department
Hourly Rate: $41.23 What You'll Do In this position as an
IT Project Manager 1 your primary duties will be:
- Work closely with developers, project managers/business analysts, and business end-users to develop and implement comprehensive data testing strategies and plans tailored to specific projects and data requirements
- Define testing objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with the same staff to produce test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Establish and enforce best practices for data testing, including data validation, verification, and reconciliation processes.
- Allocate tasks effectively and manage the workload to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
- Identify, document, and track data defects and issues throughout the testing lifecycle.
- Communicate test results, issues, and risks effectively to project teams and management.
- Collaborate with development teams to diagnose root causes and work towards effective resolutions.
- Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate future data quality issues.
- Lead and mentor QA staff providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
- Utilize various testing tools and techniques to move towards more automated and streamline the data testing processes.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data testing practices.
Report in location: 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215, Franklin County.
Our organization currently follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office as needed and based on operational need. This is subject to change with limited notice. A teleworking agreement must be approved by management Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of software development life cycle;
- Experience with various types of testing including regression, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Use/knowledge of SalesForce, Provar, or similar application development/testing is preferred.
3 yrs. exp. in project management (i.e., management & development of project/program requirements, design, development, testing/pilot, training & full scale implementation), with experience to be commensurate with project/program &/or position description on file (e.g., specific human service program area, management information sciences, fiscal); 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
- Or Successful completion of 2 yrs. post-secondary education majoring in business administration, public administration, computer science/information technology, social science, or health, with major being commensurate with project to be assigned; 12 mos. exp. in budgeting & calculating cost projections of program/projects.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

About The Information Technology Department The Information Technology (IT) Division works collaboratively with all PUCO departments to identify, procure and support information technology solutions necessary to perform the mission critical business functions of the PUCO. IT subject matter experts: maintain more than 50 business applications: plan, design, build and deploy new IT solutions; provide support for phones, tablets, laptops, desktops and printers; maintain production systems; and manage PUCO’s websites and webcasting activities. In addition, the IT division coordinates infrastructure support and IT security services with the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) and the Office of Information Technology (OIT).
