Job Description: The Interior Design/Space Planning Team is responsible for the creation of the Global Workplace Standards and to ensure adherence to the standards. The Planning Team meets with customers to ascertain their needs and provides detailed floor plans and direction to the project management team to implement. This position will be working exclusively on projects with one of our clients, often at the client site (in Dearborn, MI) but will also be required to travel frequently to out-of-state locations, as well as locations in Canada. A viable candidate MUST be able to cross the Canadian border with a valid passport and/or enhanced license.
Essential Job Functions: Planners engage in the following activities:
- Initial customer meetings
- Programming scope and development in adherence with the Global Workplace Standards
- Test fit space plans
- Detailed space plans
- Furniture plans
- Interior finish plans
- Develops and executes migration and phasing plans for relocation and sequencing based on the physical space requirements
- Establishes project goals and objectives, including but not limited to, schedule and budget parameters.
- Attends meetings with Business Division representatives and facilitates discussion/programming of space requirements (headcount/growth, allocations, adjacencies, special support needs).
- Follows deviation process if applicable. The Planning Team coordinates and provides input to the following teams:
- DCT Finance
- DCT Engineering
- DCT Project Management
- DCT Cost Estimating
- IT Project Management
- Audio Visual
- Signage vendors
- Furniture dealerships
- Architects and Engineers
- Property Management
- Move Team
- Change Management
- Communications
- CAD
Employment Qualifications: Education: - Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Designer is required
Experience: - 5+ years' experience with interior architecture, specifically space planning, furniture selection and finish plans
Skills/Competencies: - Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail
- Understanding of building codes a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Programming and scope development of space a plus
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet project deadlines
