Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Grant Writer will report to the Senior Grant Manager and play a critical role in securing funding to support Raise the Future's mission. This position is responsible for developing compelling grant proposals and detailed reports for foundation, corporate, and government funders. The role requires strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure accurate, timely submissions. Raise the Future is a $12 million organization dedicated to transforming the lives of youth and families. Key Responsibilities Grant Writing & Reporting Develop, write, and edit grant proposals and funding requests tailored to donor requirements. Prepare and submit accurate and timely grant reports that highlight impact, successes, and challenges. Collaborate with program, finance, and development teams to gather information, data, and outcomes for proposals and reports. Project Management Serve as the liaison between internal teams (programs, finance, and development) to coordinate all aspects of grant proposals and reporting. Maintain organized systems to track grant deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements. Ensure compliance with funder guidelines, including submission timelines and content accuracy. Fundraising Support Research and identify new funding opportunities, including foundation, corporate, and government grants. Attend funder meetings, interviews, and receptions as needed. Other Duties Support special projects and perform other duties as assigned. Key Qualities of a Successful Grant Writer Strong Writing Skills: Clear, concise, and persuasive writing style with the ability to adapt to different audiences and funding requirements. Research Expertise: Thorough understanding of potential funders, their guidelines, and the current funding landscape. Attention to Detail: Meticulous in following application instructions and ensuring accuracy in all aspects of the proposal. Project Understanding: Ability to grasp the complexities of organizational programs and articulate their impact effectively. Relationship Building: Comfort in networking with potential funders and cultivating long-term partnerships. Strategic Thinking: Identifying the most relevant funding opportunities and tailoring proposals accordingly. Time Management: Efficiently managing multiple grant applications and deliverables with tight deadlines. Data Analysis: Ability to gather, analyze, and present compelling data to support funding requests. Ethics and Integrity: Commitment to upholding high standards of transparency and accountability in all grant activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of grant writing experience. Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with donor management systems. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and maintain strong attention to detail.
