Hi there, we’re Article. We’re a North American online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. As a Furniture Sourcing Specialist , you will assist with evaluating vendor capabilities, and capacities, following up on product development and quality as we diversify our vendor base into North America. 

Fixed-Term (18 Months) details:

This is a full-time fixed-term role, with an expected length of 18 months depending on different variables this can turn into a permanent job with us. 

This is a fixed-term role for individuals based in the United States (Preferably in North Carolina). We are open to nearby states as well. 

What You'll Do
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams for supplier interactions.
  • Manage supplier capacity and internal alignment.
  • Execute product development and relocation projects.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities and contribute to strategy.
  • Negotiate prices and analyze market data.
  • Identify business opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Manage contracts and relationships.
  • Oversee supplier performance and business responsibilities.
  • Ensure product availability and timely delivery.
  • Conduct sourcing activities to meet quality and delivery requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve disruptions.
  • Track, measure, and report vendor performance, maintaining ethical standards.
  • Identify and act on business opportunities to create precondition for product and production cost out, based on value and fact based business approach.
  • Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, SWOT analysis, and give critical inputs to supplier strategy.
Who You Are:
  • 5+ years experience in furniture industry sourcing and merchandising, with a focus on upholstery preferred.
  • Proficiency in technical aspects, compliance, and manufacturing efficiencies of upholstery products.
  • Expertise in project management, including supplier relocation, new product introduction (NPI), and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Skilled in leading holistic business approaches, prioritizing customer, supplier, and total cost development.
  • Ability to drive results through collaborative engagement with process partners.
  • Bachelor's degree relevant to the industry.
  • Strong management of supplier relationships and accountability for product availability.
  • Effective communicator and representative of procurement function.
  • Problem-solving ability, facilitating multidisciplinary teams to address operational challenges.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional collaboration and decision-making without formal authority.
  • Prioritization of value and strategic time allocation for maximum impact.
  • Proficient in data analysis and interpretation, identifying unique opportunities.
  • Proactive initiative-taking and goal achievement.
  • Understanding of vendor manufacturing operations and adept problem-solving in complex environments.
  • Capacity to navigate conflicting priorities and devise innovative solutions for overall company benefit.
  • Advanced knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (preferred).

The target salary for this role is $70,000 to $80,000. The actual base pay can increase beyond this range, and will be based on various factors, including transferable skills, training and certifications, work experience, business needs and market demands.
