The role of a Furniture Installer combines a love for a fast-paced logistics environment, along with delivering & assembling high quality products for our clients all in a day's work. Sound like something you want to be a part of? This role will install and/or upgrade all product lines of contract office furniture at customer site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loads and unloads furniture and components to and from trucks or jobsite.
  • Uncrates products and removes trash from jobsite.
  • Inspects and documents product for damage and quality prior to installation and delivery.
  • Reads blueprints and other specifications to determine method of installation, work procedures and material and/or work aid requirements.
  • Reviews installation plans with senior installation personnel as required and installs product in accordance with plans.
  • Measures, marks, and gathers components of systems furniture of specified/required sizes. May prepare by cutting components as needed.
  • May assist in hanging wall starts and wall mounts. Fits and fastens panels or partitions into correct specified position on wall.
  • Secures panels and partitions to wall starts/mounts, other panels, or related components for stabilization.
  • Fits, aligns, and hangs components and installs hardware such as locks, trays, or drawers and other furniture.
  • Brings all product and necessary tools/equipment ready and available for each job.
  • Communicates frequently with Project Managers and clients on project status before arrival, during and end of project.
  • Returns phone calls, emails and texts quickly leads to carrying work phones.
  • Accurately completes and submits all required paperwork at the end of each day (Work orders, timecards, progress photos, etc.)
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment according to AOI/Client standards.

Qualifications

  • Commercial Furniture Install experience required.
  • DOT Medical Examiners Certificate required (AOI will obtain for eligible candidate)
  • Valid Nebraska/Iowa Drivers License required

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and email communication.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a positive manner and be sensitive to jobsite environments.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to adjust and interpret blue prints.
  • Ability to apply understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Must have safe work habits.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
