Summary: To prepare and portion foods for the resort's food and beverage outlets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Prepare, portion and serve stocks, breading items, cold salads, dressings, sandwich making, vegetable and fruit prepping and fryer work according to standard recipes.

2. Handle knives and operate small kitchen equipment safely.

3. Be able to work with others well in a close environment with a learning attitude.

4. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.

5. Follow the kitchen chain of command; ie Chefs, Cook I, Cook II, Cook III.

6. Perform other duties as required.

Candidate Profile:

Education and Experience

Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to bend, lift and carry heavy objects.

Preferred Traits

  • Broad and in-depth professional knowledge and skills in food preparation, cooking and presentation; good knife skills and knowledge of food and its characteristics, especially its shelf life.
  • Ability to motivate others and lead people in the area of correct procedures and follow through.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of company personnel and outside vendors.
  • Good personal hygiene.

Skills and Knowledge

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must be at least 18 years old, have a safe driving record and the ability to obtain a Missouri class E or Arkansas P designated drivers license.

Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction.
