Join Summit Events, a leading, locally owned and operated Destination Management Company (DMC) in Park City, Salt Lake City, and St. George, UT. We're seeking a highly creative and visionary Event Designer and Proposal Specialist to join our dynamic team. As an Event Designer and Proposal Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping the creative vision for Summit Event. With input from our Sales Team, Clients, and local partners, your focus will be on  conceptualizing and crafting stunning event environments for our proposals.

Position Typ e: Part-time hourly position with an hourly rate beginning at $33.00/hour based upon experience

Reports to : Sales Team

Primary Territory : Our main office is located in Park City, Utah, with events primarily in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. St. George is a growing market for us, and we can expect needs for event design in that location. 

Location Flexibility

This position can be remote; however, applicants must reside in Northern Utah to allow for occasional in-person meetings, site visits, and event support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Design detailed event mood boards, visual presentations, and concept sketches using various preferred software platforms, such as Canva, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Proposify, for client proposals and occasional in-person presentations.
  • Creative development of event concepts, including décor, entertainment, activities, branding, and theming
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop customized, visually stunning proposals that captivate clients
  • Source and curate décor, entertainment, and specialty vendors to support unique and high-impact event designs
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with local and regional event suppliers, entertainers, and venues to ensure seamless operations
  • Stay ahead of industry trends to introduce fresh ideas and innovative design techniques
  • Create compelling storytelling elements and visual narratives for proposals and client presentations
  • Help maintain a curated library of creative assets, proposal templates, and case studies from past events
  • Work with Program Managers to transition creative concepts into operational plans and seamless event execution
  • Periodically, attend site visits and client meetings to provide creative input and design expertise
  • Periodically, provide on-site event support to ensure the flawless execution of creative elements
  • Promote and demonstrate exemplary customer service to clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • May be asked to work nights and weekends based on event/program schedules
  • Perform other related duties as directed

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Experience in event design and/or interior design, event planning experience helpful, creative services, or related fields
  • Exceptional creative thinking, visual storytelling, and conceptual design skills
  • Proficiency in design software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and presentation tools like PowerPoint or Google Slides
  • Ability to translate client visions into extraordinary event environments and experiences
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple creative projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and highly collaborative environment
  • Valid driver’s license, cell phone, and access to reliable transportation

  • Ability to manage and organize creative projects from concept through flawless execution
