ABOUT iQ ACADEMY, LOS ANGELES AND THE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER POSITIONS:
iQ Academy, Los Angeles delivers online/virtual home based instruction to K-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily and log attendance. We use the K-12, inc. curriculum as the basis for instruction and you will teach via the Engageli platform. Teachers instruct students online daily both synchronously and asynchronously.
iQ Academy, Los Angeles High School Teachers meet with content students throughout the week in their virtual classrooms to provide direct and targeted instruction that meets the needs of the students and support their homeroom students as needed. Each homeroom has about 30 students. We do our best to assign homeroom students locally, as teachers will be required to plan and attend at least one 'outing' per semester, in addition to special events such as graduation.
They also provide students additional help, individualized instruction, grade work, have daily communication and conferences with students, families, and learning coaches via telephone and email, attend virtual all-staff and department meetings, in-person professional development, and monitor attendance. High School teachers may meet with their students face to face for tutoring and/or testing.
All teachers are required to proctor state testing.
