Job Description

We are looking for a creative and analytical Email Marketing Strategist who is passionate about all things retention marketing, email and SMS. You love digging into the data, are familiar with Klaviyo, Attentive and similar ESPs, but also appreciate the creative side of email marketing – able to design creative campaigns, write copy and manage technical aspects of email marketing, using data to inform client recommendations.

You will be responsible for for planning and developing overall email marketing strategies for agency clients, as well as managing the implementation of strategy and working with the account teams to execute email campaigns, automations and SMS messaging.

**Please Note: Candidates who provide work samples and/or portfolio with their application with be given preferential treatment. If you're selected as a candidate, you will be required to do a small assignment.

This is a full-time position. Contract positions will be considered for the right person. Work is full-time remote, but ability to travel to clients in the Philadelphia, PA area is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as account manager for key email marketing clients
• Manage and build overall email marketing strategies for agency clients
• Design and implement direct email marketing campaigns
• Develop advanced automation flows for email and SMS
• Manage various email lists and segmentation strategies, including segments based on behaviors like past email engagement and website interactions
• Stay up to date on the latest product offerings from ESPs, and work with team to upgrade existing templates using graphics, personalization and advanced features
• Determine email marketing KPIs, develop and present reports on a weekly basis
• Develop lead generation strategies and tactics to grow client email lists
• Monitor campaign and automation performance with an eye for continuous improvement
• Develop documentation and road maps for processes, A/B tests, and promotions that succeed through email.
• Test campaigns and proofread all emails for clarity, grammar and spelling and test for accuracy
• Schedule campaigns for deployment
• Ensure emails follow industry policies and best practices
• Stay up to the minute on privacy changes, email marketing news and technology advances.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as an email marketing manager or digital marketing specialist
• Knowledge of developing and executing email and SMS marketing campaigns strategies and roadmaps
• Experience developing advanced automations and audience segmenting strategies
• Ability to communicate complex email marketing concepts to clients who may not be marketers
• Account management experience a plus
• Strong project management and account management skills
• Strong copywriting skills for email
• Hands-on experience with HTML and email service providers (Klaviyo, Attentive)
• Attention to detail while able to grasp the big picture
• Knowledge of Google Analytics and reporting best practices
• An ability to work under tight deadlines
• Degree in Marketing or relevant field
