POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage the Distribution Center facility and operations in order to service customers and company needs consistent with the company objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manager will:

  • Directs all distribution center shipping activities to provide accurate and timely shipment to customers and Champion facilities.

  • Monitors finished goods inventory to ensure accuracy and integrity, thereby protecting company assets.

  • Plans for enhancements to department operations and facilities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Distribution Center.

  • Supervises employee overtime, vacations and recommends disciplinary actions and staffing levels consistent with company policy to ensure optimum efficiency of the Distribution Center facilities.

  • Directs all Distribution Center receiving activities to provide accurate and timely receipt of finished goods from other company facilities.

  • Maintains proper maintenance of building, grounds and equipment at the Distribution Center facility to ensure the maximum useful life of company assets.

  • Implements safety practices and procedures affecting employee behavior and facility operating conditions to contribute to the reduction and prevention of personal injuries and accidents.

  • Coordinates Distribution Center services with other departments to ensure company objectives are met.

  • Utilizes warehouse management software to ensure operations are effective and efficient; and performs maintenance to improve operations.

MINIMUM SELECTION CRITERIA

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Business related field preferred, or equivalent in education and experience.

Experience:

  • Three to five years’ experience in logistics management experience.

Communication:

  • Strong communication skills to convey information at multiples levels of the organization.

Special Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office software
  • Decision making and problem solving skills

Dependability:

  • Must be able to maintain satisfactory record of attendance and conduct. Must be able to work any shift and overtime, as required.
