CNN is seeking a Data Scientist to join our growth analytics team and become a subject expert on user’s likelihood to convert and retain for CNN’s digital subscription products. They will be instrumental in understanding the rollout of our dynamic subscription wall on CNN’s existing digital content. This individual should be self-motivated, work well independently and as part of a team, and be passionate about what they do. The Data Scientist will: Partner with Product to support and refine the logic behind our dynamic paywall. Build predictive models to refine understanding around churn and customer lifetime value. Perform granular customer journey analysis in SQL to identify points of unnecessary friction and find opportunities to proactively message users. Support the design and execution of A/B tests and other experiments related to acquisition and retention. Collaborate with internal data teams to enhance our customer data and targeting capabilities. Translate business needs into data science solutions and communicate findings to stakeholders and leadership. Present analysis to business partners and senior leadership and make product launch recommendations. Define and document key growth metrics and decisioning logic for consistency and transparency. Requirements include a BA/BS in statistics, mathematics, economics, operations research, or other quantitative discipline, 2+ years of experience in data science, significant experience using SQL in cloud environments, experience in Python or R, experience with data visualization tools, and a proven track record of providing actionable insights that drive business impact. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to deliver on multiple projects, and a collaborative approach. Nice-to-haves include experience in customer journey analytics, subscription products, and experimentation and statistics.
