Overview: Join a compassionate healthcare team as a Certified Nursing Assistant I, providing essential patient care during night shifts in a regional medical center serving the Southeastern United States. This role involves assisting patients with daily activities, supporting nursing staff, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist with patient admissions, including orientation to the unit and equipment.
- Respond promptly to patient needs, providing direct assistance or notifying appropriate personnel.
- Support the nursing care plan by performing delegated patient care tasks.
- Ensure patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and stock of patient care areas.
- Participate in cost containment and accurate patient service charging.
- Engage in educational and performance improvement activities.
- Perform waived testing and maintain required skills per unit competency.
- Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction and efficient patient throughput.
Education and Certifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current registration with the appropriate state nursing assistant registry.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Experience and Skills: - No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read and understand English.
- Flexibility in work tasks and schedules.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new techniques.
- Knowledge of age-specific patient care considerations.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to work variable shifts, including nights.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and turning patients.
- Visual and auditory acuity to observe patient conditions.
- Exposure to blood and body fluids with appropriate precautions.
